Dave Dookeeram, FACHE
Dave Dookeeram is an entrepreneurial healthcare professional with a strong track record in operations management and management consulting. Dookeeram is recognized for creating and leading the largest academic hospitalist and palliative care physician group practice in the US. In physician group practices Dookeeram is well respected for the effective application of performance improvement tools, data-driven decision making and effective change leadership. Dookeeram is skilled at navigating complex political environments, guiding teams through financial turnarounds, strategic planning and process improvement projects. Dookeeram has worked with community and academic hospitalist programs to improve profitability; engage physicians in forward-thinking strategy development; and streamline discharge communication. He has created and managed Geriatrics programs in Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Long Term Acute Care, Nursing Home and Continuing Care Retirement Community facilities. Dookeeram has served the Society of Hospital Medicine as Annual Meeting faculty, and Committee Member of the Leadership Task Force that planned and implemented the first leadership training for hospitalists. In his role as an advisor to Ingenious Med, Dookeeram provides strategic guidance in the area of practice management for inpatient groups. Dookeeram earned a MPH in Healthcare Management at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Emory University, where he earned a BA in Biology.

He earned his B.S. in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Michigan and stayed at the University of Michigan to complete his M.D. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Emory University. His interests include health education and designing applications that improve the delivery of medical information to the public.
